ABEN webcasts - just added!

ABEN webcasts offer CE credit with no travel or tests needed

​​​Two new courses, one ethics, the other on insuring condos, have been added to ABEN's webcast offerings. Remember group discounts​ are available for multiple viewers needing CE credit. As always no travel or test required.​​

Ethical Issues - Personal & Organizational, 3 hrs. Ethics
Ethics in the most simpliest of terms is a study of decision making. Why do people choose to make the "right" or "wrong" decision based on a set of circumstances?  What are the factors that affect such decisions?  There could be hundreds of factors, and they could be different for each person/decision.  This webcast will only scratch the surface of an issue known as ethical decision making.

Insuring Condominiums​, 2 hrs. P&C
There are three things agents must understand to adequately write insurance for a condominium unit-owner.  This two-hour webinar will address all three issues and review the coverages provided in the insurance policy. You may have heard the saying “when writing condos... either get in or get out.” Nothing could be more true, and we will explain why.

Certificates of Insurance, 3 hrs. P&C
Certificates of Insurance are one of the most high-risk documents that pass between insureds, agents, insurors and other third parties. This course reviews COI format and implications, E&O statistics and case studies and solutions to COI problems in addition to peripheal issues such as contractual risk tansfer and additional insureds.

Dueling Additional Insurance Endorsements, 1 hr. P&C
To help agents evaluate the best form to use depending on the situation, this course reviews ISO's CG 20 10 and CG 20 33 foms' Additional Insured Endorsements, focusing on the similarities and differences, advantages and disadvantages. 

Employment Law and the Insurance Agent, 2 hrs. P&C 
Compliance with federal and state employment laws is one of the most challenging issues facing independent agents. This course covers employee status (independent contractors vs. employees), age/gender discrimination and overtime pay in the agency by an in-depth look at the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as well as IRS rules.

The E-world for Insurance Professionals​, 3 hrs. P&C
This course surveys the major laws on privacy concerns relevant to insurance agents. Most of the time will be spent on federal law, including HIPAA, Gramm Leach Bliley Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The rest of the time will be spent on interplay between federal and state laws, case studies, developing privacy policies and security breach coverage policies.
