Congressional Reauthorization for the National Flood Insurance Program (FEMA webpage)
Congress must periodically renew the NFIP’s statutory authority to operate. On Feb. 3, 2026, the president signed legislation passed by Congress that extends the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP’s) authorization to Sept. 30, 2026. Congress must now reauthorize the NFIP by no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2026.

Tort Reform in South Carolina - Tort Reform Provisions Reintroduced in Senate (2026)
The legislative session has resumed, and further tort reform provisions have been introduced in the Senate while other State House leaders have made the case for additional reforms. We will keep our tort reform page updated (access with member login below) as the session progresses. Information from 2025 is still on the page including a section-by-section analysis of the final 2025 tort reform bill (H. 3430) signed into law on May 13, 2025.
