Designation Programs

Our association offers a variety of designation programs to support the professional development of our members.  Invest in your future with the one that meets your career goals and available resources. Current ones are listed below.

The Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation program provides and in-depth practical approach to education for insurance agents, CSRs and other insurance practitioners. CIC helps designees meet the changing needs of their clients. Participants earn their designation after taking the five institutes and passing an exam after each one.

The Certified Insurance Services Representative (CISR) program is designed for all insurance professionals to increase your knowledge of coverages, risks and exposures. Earn the CISR designation by attending five of nine available courses and passing an exam after each one. Participants can focus on a specific area, match their interests or simply diversify their learning.

The Associate in Insurance Account Management (AIAM) designation is a comprehensive program that focuses on the non-technical aspects of an insurance professional's responsibilities. This designation is designed for all agency staff.

The construction industry is specialized so the insurance professionals who handle their business should be too. The CRIS designation increases the competence, confidence, and credibility of insurance professionals who sell or underwrite insurance for contractors. Contractors who buy insurance from a CRIS designee know they are dealing with a professional who is committed to the construction industry. There are five single-day courses required to earn the designation, and they can be taken in any order.
