SC InsurPac leadership honored with IIABA Barney Burns Award

IIABSC's InsurPac team (SC National Dir. Ashley Brady, SC InsurPac Chairman Ken Finch, IIABSC Immediate Past Chairman Scott Moseley) was awarded the Barney Burns Award for leadership during the 2018 Legislative Conference. Under their leadership South Carolina had the largest increase in the amount of overall contributions to InsurPac as well as the largest overall number of individual contributors in 2017.

The Bernard J. Burns Award is named after former Big “I” President Barney Burns, who founded InsurPac in 1975, and served as chairman of its Board of Trustees until 1983. During his tenure, Barney worked tirelessly to educate agents about the importance of being politically active and supporting their association's federal advocacy efforts.

SC Congressional Delegation Visits

Of course the primary purpose of the IIABA Legislative Conference each year is so that agents from across the country will come and visit with their Senators and Congressmen and educate them on the issues important to the industry. Those important issues include:  long-term re-authorization and reform of the National Flood Insurance Program, crop insurance, tax reform, industry regulatory reform, health care and cybersecurity.
