Congrats to IIABSC Foundation Scholarship winners

IIABSC Foundation met recently to award the annual recipients of its newest scholarship program. Thanks to our members' contributions, they had the funds to award eight $2,000 scholarships in 2023.

Each year the Foundation awards at least five college scholarships of $1,000 each to the childen of member agency employees whose children are either entering college or already undergrads. To be eligible, applicants must be a South Carolina resident and enrolled as a full-time student in the fall. They are looking for students that are active in his or her school and community, demonstrate a solid work ethic and possess strong leadership abilities, teamwork and a desire to succeed.  Call for applications are generally in September or October each year with a January 15 deadline.

Tricia Blackwood, currently attending Limestone University with a major in English Education. She is the daughter of Tammie Blackwood with Correll Insurance Group.

Haley Katherine Brady, a high school senior at Pee Dee Academy with plans to attend the University of South Carolina and major in business administration. She is the daughter of Ashley Brady with First Charter Insurance in Marion.

Celia Deese, a high school senior at Heathwood Hall with plans to attend the University of Richmond and major in Communications. She is the daughter of Andrew Deese with Upchurch & Jowers Insurance in Camden.

Ansleigh Epps, currently attending Wofford College with a major in Biology. She is the daughter of Keisha Epps with the Sumter Insurance Group in Sumter.

Chandler Herdon, currently attending the United States Sports Academy in Alabama with a major in sports management. He is the son of Stacey Herndon with the Midgley Agency in Bennettsville.

Jett Herdon, currently attending Coastal Carolina with a major in business. He is the other son of Stacey Herndon with the Midgley Agency in Bennettsville.

Sarah Beth Lynch, currently a high school senior attending The Carolina Academy with plans to attend Francis Marion University with a major in Early Childhood Education. She is the daughter of Timothy Lynch with Moore & Associates in Lake City.

Mekenzie Robinson, currently attending Coastal Carolina with a major in Communications and Marketing. She is the daughter of Renado Robinson with Crossroads Insurance Agency in Fort Mill.
