Ownership of expirations, including related records and data, is perhaps the most critical issue for independent agents to consider in their company appointment contracts as an agency derives much of its value from its expirations. Legal precedent and industry practice is clear that between the carrier and independent agent it is the agent who retains ownership and control over the records, work product and data—both physical and electronic—associated with its book of business, unless the contract expressly provides otherwise. However, it remains important for agents to address the ownership and usage rights of expirations and related data in express contract terms. Young Agents Scholarship Golf Tournament April 26 in Orangeburg
Registration now open — you do not need to be a young agent to play!

Registration is open for the Young Agents Scholarship Golf Tournament on April 26 at the Orangeburg Country Club in Orangeburg, SC. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Our tournament is open to anyone who wants to play (not just young agents, and not just insurance industry) and raises money to benefit our young agents program. Register individually or as a team. Spring Conference registration opens to agents and Palmetto Partners
May 18-19 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, SC

Registration for the annual Spring Conference to be held May 18-19 in Columbia, SC, is open to agents and Palmetto Partners. Our Spring Conference offers valuable opportunities for insurance professionals to multiply their visibility, increase their knowledge, enhance industry resources, and engage with exhibitors, new contacts and colleagues. The health and wellbeing of participants will continue to be our top priority in holding in-person events, therefore adherance to state and federal health and human services guidelines and protocals will be followed. As a result, some logistical changes have been made to conference protocols and format. Attendees will pledge that they do not have COVID-19 symptoms or recent exposure. Face masks are required when not actively eating or drinking. Number of people at a time inside classrooms and exhibit hall will be limited as well as our overall registration.
