Summary of insurance-related bills passed this year
The SC General Assembly has adjourned for the year but is expected to return for consideration of budget legislation and other hot social issues. All legislation that has not passed is still alive and can be considered if the Governor calls the General Assembly back or January when the General Assembly returns next session. Convention awards nominations deadline Aug. 15
Our awards banquet is a highlight of the annual convention, as important industry contributors are recognized. Here is your chance to nominate the next recipients of the Hayne P. Glover Jr. Agent of the Year, Young Agent of the Year and Industry Person of the Year awards. Recipients are nominated by other members and will be awarded at this year's annual convention to be held Nov. 5-7 at The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. Two-week course with upcoming sessions in July & October
Our NEW LIVE VIRTUAL producer P&C pre-licensing course is now ready for enrollment with upcoming sessions in July and October. Half-day sessions will be held each weekday morning for two weeks. Curriculum is presented in smaller, more manageable portions and includes chapter quizzes, self-checks, live review sessions, plenty of opportunity to ask questions and a "final" simulated test exam. Financial ratings give insight into a carrier’s ability to pay claims. Not only do they need to have the funds to pay claims, when it comes to E&O coverage they also need to be able to pay all legal services required for defense costs.
