SCDOI releases Status Report on SC Commercial Liability Insurance Market
Includes report on Liquor Liability as well as Commercial General Liability
Part of last year's tort reform legislation requires that the SC Dept. of Insurance issue an annual report to the General Assembly with information relating to the commercial liability market overall and specifically the liquor liability market. Safe Home Mitigation Grant Program now accepting new applications
Announcements say this will be one of the most significant funding cycles in the history of the program
The Safe Home Mitigation Grant Program reopened their application portal for SC coastal residents earlier this month on Feb. 10. The program provides matching and non-matching grants to homeowners in coastal areas to retrofit their homes and improve their resiliency against natural disasters. According to the SCDOI, this is expected to be one of the most significant funding cycles in the history of the program. Share this info with your clients.   (+ More...)

We are participating once again in the Trusted Choice GIVE Movement this June 1-8. This annual project led by our young agents encourages agencies, affiliates and partners to come together for a week of giving to benefit an incredibly inspirational and worthy cause. Together our donations have the potential for life-changing impact for children and families in South Carolina through Make-A-Wish South Carolina. Our goal in 2026 is to raise $30,000 - enough to grant the wishes of FOUR local children. Donations will be accepted all year long, and agencies and companies who participate as a TOP AGENCY GIVER will be spotlighted throughout the campaign and especially during our week of giving. Each Friday, McGuireWoods Consulting, on our state government affairs team, provides weekly State House updates on the activities of both the House and Senate. They have allowed us to share these weekly reports with our membership. The Newsletter gives a narrative overview of the week with images and highlights, and the House Actions and Senate Actions documents chart the progress of specific bills to becoming law along with links to the full bill text. These bills won't necessarily be referenced in the newsletter. IIABSC 2026 Dues renewals info - cancellation letters on their way to mailboxes
How to verify your dues payment using our Member InfoHub
IIABSC member renewal payments are now past due, and we are in the process of cancellation for those who have not yet paid their annual dues. Please let us know if you intend to renew but have not yet paid your dues. Dues invoices can be retrieved by anyone with the proper permissions using our Member InfoHub. Monthly payers renew automatically, but they must have a payment profile set up in our system. Anyone with the proper permissions can verify their organizations' dues payment and/or retrieve their renewal invoice with payment link using our Member InfoHub.
