IIABSC Foundation update: New Trustees in 2021
Drew Theodore of Columbia to become Foundation Trustee Chairman

Scott Moseley of Irmo Insurance in Irmo and Lee Ellis of Ellis Realty & Insurance in Hampton have been elected to the IIABSC Foundation Board of Trustees. Moseley was elected to replace Trustee Bill Thomas of Hilton Head Island whose term ends December 31. Ellis was elected to fill the unexpired term of Foundation Chairman Tommy Cook who will step down on December 31. Both Thomas and Cook will become Trustee Emeritus. At the same time, Drew Theodore of Theodore & Associates in Columbia will become the Foundation Chairman and Victor Jowers of Upchurch & Jowers in Camden will become vice-chairman. SCDOI Update
Effective Sept. 15, the SC Dept. of Insurance will no longer issue temporary licenses. Existing temporary licenses will remain active until their expiration date. Remember that remote proctoring for producer licensing exams is now an option in addition to PSI test sites. (+ More...)

IIABSC was honored with its ninth consecutive IIABA Excellence in Education Diamond Award. Known as the EIE Awards, they celebrate and recognize state associations who have made significant contributions to education for their members and the industry. SAVE THE DATE: IIABSC Annual Convention goes Virtual
Annual Meeting - Oct. 28, Convention Virtual Program - November 10-12

IIABSC is unable to host an in-person Annual Convention this year. Instead we will be offering a FREE informative virtual program including five hours of CE and a virtual trade show on Nov. 10-12. Our annual meeting business session will be held virtually Oct. 28 at 11:00 am (watch your email inbox for details). Details on agenda, speaker line-up, virtual trade show and registration will be announced soon. We look forward to being able to safely gather with you in person again, but until then, we hope you will connect with us online. In the meantime, send us photos ( of what you have been up to during the past several months of COVID-19. Share as you wish - in your remote workspace, making charitable deliveries, out in your community, team meeting screen shots, or how you are connecting & doing business during this time. September is National Preparedness Month


  1. You must complete all CE requirements before you can renew your producer license. You can no longer wait for the final days of your birth month to complete CE requirements.

  2. CE filing in South Carolina is now done using your National Producer Number. Do not submit your old SC License Number! 

  3. Prometric is no longer the South Carolina CE Administrator. You must now must use the DOI's State Based Systems website  (and your NPN) to access CE status.

  4. You are no longer required to pay a CE Admin Fee with your license renewal. Although you may see a slight increase in course fees everywhere.
